Puppy Training/Manners
Is for puppies under six months of age. The concentration in this class is on getting you used to working with your pup and how to handle
typical puppy things as they arise - before they become issues later on!
Basic commands, practical application of lessons, socialization, puppy manners and getting set to handle adolescence round out the program. The puppy must have completed three puppy boosters, have had Bordetella (kennel cough) and if 16 weeks, must have had rabies.
Basic Training/Manners
Is for pups who have gone through P-K and adult dogs. If you cannot schedule a Puppy-K class, younger pups will be allowed in Basic and the program scaled back to their needs as youngsters. This
program has an emphasis on basic commands, practical application of lessons, manners, socialization and bonding. This program is more structured than P-K as the older pups and dogs have longer
attention spans and physically can handle more than the youngsters. This class will also act as a basis for more advanced work. All puppies and dogs must be current with all vaccines including kennel
cough (bordetella)
Advanced Manners
This class will focus on a formal heel and finding heel position, teaching the dogs to do behaviors
from a distance (such as go from a sit-stay to a down-stay without handler having to return to the dog), stop during a recall, etc. In order to participate, a dog must have good loose leash manners,
able to stay in a sit and down while handler walks to the end of the leash and return, come reliably when called with mild distractions.
